Ok, so we’re always reading about how we should be eating kale, lentils and quinoa but for us at GTTG we just can’t bring ourselves to do that – we just love food too much!

However, if you’re like us and often find yourself feeling sluggish and could use an energy boost without embracing a whole new diet, try incorporating these foods into your exisiting diet for that extra energy boost to get you through the day…

1 Lemon – Jazz up your water and add some freshly squeezed lemon to it – lemon is a “clean” energy booster and has some great other benefits to it such as helping reduce blood pressure, promoting maintaining a healthy liver and aiding digestion.

2 Salmon – salmon is high in those all important omega 3 fatty acids – we need these to help our bodies produce energy (plus they help maintain a healthy heart and circulation).

3 Eggs – high in protein as well as iron, eggs are a great food to give you energy throughout the day – try having as boiled egg in the morning for breakfast.

4 Nuts and seeds – toast sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, pine nuts and sesame seeds with a little olive oil for a delicious snack (this mix also tastes great on a salad) – we won’t bore you with the science behind it but these babies have multiple health benefits, not just energy boosting!

5 Dark chocolate – oh yes, it’s true – you now have a good reason to eat chocolate (apart from it being delicious!). Choose dark chocolate rather than milk / white for maximum benefits – it’s not only a natural energy booster but will also give you a little “pick me up” by increasing your endorphins – win win!
